Sandgate School Prom 2025 – The Best Night Ever

What. A. Night.

Sandgate School’s 2025 prom was everything it should be: emotional, joyful, full of heart, and packed with unforgettable moments. The weather? Very, very hot. But that didn’t stop a single person from bringing their best energy.

This year marked something special our first-ever prom in the brand new school hall. And we made it one to remember. Skiddaw Class led the decorations and created a beautiful flower-covered archway to welcome everyone in. No over-the-top flash, just real style and meaning.

Let’s talk food.
Terry’s Burger Van was parked outside, serving juicy, stacked burgers for the meat-lovers.
But for me? I don’t do burgers — and that’s where Colin came in. His baked potatoes and hummus were fantastic. I loved every bite.
And my mum couldn’t stop talking about the salads — fresh, crunchy, colourful.
Big thank you to Colin — you absolutely delivered. Something for everyone.

Then came the show-stoppers:
Billy opened the night with a heartfelt version of “This Is Me.”
Connie followed with a stunning performance of “Beauty and the Beast.”
Zoe brought high energy with a powerful Lady Gaga anthem that had the room buzzing.
Edward, dressed in full Edwardian outfit, lit up the dancefloor with a flawless Charleston — and was joined by Rib, our Deputy Head, who matched him step for step. The crowd went wild.

During dinner, we dimmed the lights and rolled out a special photo slideshow on the biggest screen Sandgate has ever seen. Shoutout to my dad Pete for helping me set everything up. The images brought back so many memories — trips, smiles, achievements, friendships.
There were more than a few tears from the parents, and it reminded us how special our time at Sandgate has been.

Then the lights dropped, and the party really started.

I had the honour of DJing the whole night — and I gave it everything.
Using just my eyes, I mixed all the song requests and added a few huge party tracks to keep the energy high. And what made it next level?

My disco light show. It featured moving heads, wash lights, and Kinta lights, all perfectly timed to the beat — lighting up the room with colour, motion, and atmosphere.

Every track had its official music video playing on the big screen, fully synced with the sound. The vibe felt like a real concert.

And best of all? No tech bugs.
The DJ software, lighting rig, projector, and my communication system all worked together perfectly. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish — no glitches, no delays, no issues.

Some of the biggest crowd favourites of the night:
• The Charleston
• Lady Gaga
• “Stick It to the Man” from School of Rock
• Fatboy Slim
• P!nk
• And the night-ending anthem — Imagine Dragons and then  Sweet Caroline
And yes — I wasn’t just behind the decks all night.
I got out on the disco floor and danced the Cha Cha Slide with Billy and his sister. Everyone joined in, and it was brilliant fun — the kind of moment that stays with you.

Some of us are moving on now — to new schools and new adventures. But Sandgate will always be part of who we are.

To the staff: You’re amazing.
To the learners: You made it unforgettable.
To Sandgate: You’re the best school ever.

Prom 2025 wasn’t just a night to remember — it was the perfect way to celebrate everything we’ve shared.
